With 20 year’s experience in property, Gemma is incredibly passionate about architecture and interior design. Drawing on her experience, she is on a mission to design spaces that look after our mental health and wellbeing, specialising in both commercial and residential architectural interior design. Gemma firmly believes in improving the use and desirability of interior space through the use of structure, detailed design, lighting, appropriate furniture, fixtures and fittings.
Having 15 years experience in the estate agency business and been made manager of his first office after less than 18 months in the business, Andrew spent the following 13 years in either senior management or owner and director positions. He has achieved massive results from starting AKS in a competitive market back in 2016, after relocating from London. AKS was established to bring a more proactive type of estate agency to Derby where the customer’s best interests are genuinely put first. The business doubled in year 2 and is set to increase by more than 50% in year 3. Outside of work, Andrew is a dad to two young boys and an avid reader & listener to anything personal development related!
Liv has over 11 years’ experience in the catering & hospitality industry and in the last 8 years, she has owned & ran a number of award winning restaurants and eateries in Derby. More recently, she has sold these businesses to help grow her outside catering & events business, Gather & Grace. She is also a founding director of Bustler, Derby’s only street food market.
In 2017, she received an Outstanding Achievement Award, presented by Marketing Derby, in recognition for her dedication to building local businesses and creating social spaces in the community. Liv shares the ups and downs of entrepreneurship and the importance of designing a business and lifestyle that are cohesive.
Alex is an aerospace engineer. Alongside building jet engines, he had dabbled in property and realising the potential of his property side hustle, he began investing more aggressively just 18 months ago. He’s now built that portfolio to a sizable £2.2m. Consisting mostly of HMOs, he employs a nationwide investment strategy.
Alex’s first HMO was bought for just £140,000, with a refurb spend of £92,500, it achieved a healthy commercial valuation of £375,000, allowing a clean financial exit plus an additional £18,000 in profit. This particular HMO generates £1,700 a month.
Alex is set on building this portfolio further, to allow him to quit the day job and fulfil his passion for supporting young adults in achieving their full potential.
